Today’s post continues our interview series. Introducing Montez, one of the organizers of Ruedx: Cincinnati happening next week. If you haven’t met him before, maybe you’ve seen a guy with a studded out towel, yeah that’s him. An amazing dancer and person, he is the highlight of the week.
A Short Bio
Hello, My name is Montez Watson, father of 4 Wonderful children and oldest of 4 siblings. I enjoy watching anime, reading comics, and the occasional video game enthusiast. When I’m not doing sports related things with my children, or caring for my father, or spending time with my family at a family gathering, my wife and I are out trying the newest restaurants we can find in the city. I started off my career in technology as a help desk support technician. After years of doing that I moved into the role of an Application Analyst, shortly after I was promoted to a level II. I then transitioned to the position of a Systems Analyst, then a Business Analyst, and now my current position as Scrum Master III. I have obtained a few certifications such as: PSM I, PSPO I, CompTIA A+, Azure (AZ-900) and Azure Data (DP-900) Fundamentals, and Azure Data Engineering (DP-203). I am also an Adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati.
How did you find dance/casino?
I was introduced to Casino through my current team Casino Real and Robert Rice and Rachel Hrnyak, where we now hold a Sunday Rueda fun class where we continue to practice moves and just get more people together for fun to practice moves we would not usually have the advantage of doing else where.
Favorite dance event you’ve attended?
I have not had the opportunity to attend a lot but i would say my very first exposure and first Dance event is the Atlanta Salsa Congress when they first started before they took a break and then made a come back.
Current favorite song to dance to?
You know there are so many that I have not been exposed to and others that I hear more often it is really hard to pick a favorite right now.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
Something most people would not assume about me is that I am a Geek. Despite seeing some of my work out post, I spend my free time reading Manga or watching anime, or just normal comic books. I also have about 5 Bespoke suits that are custom to my body (those were not cheap).
